Form SSA-634: pay back a Social Security overpayment in smaller amounts
If you agree you were overpaid but cannot pay the proposed amount, ask for a lower monthly recovery rate with Form SSA-634.

If you receive benefits and want to repay in smaller monthly payments than the letter proposes.
How to send it
Sign in to your my Social Security account, fill out Form SSA-634 (Request for Change in Overpayment Recovery Rate), then upload it. Social Security mails you its decision.
